Ray Crooke was an Australian Artist born in Victoria in 1922. Ray Crooke won the Archibald (portrait prize) in 1969. His work is held in numerous public/private collections nationally and internationally, including the Vatican Museum collection. Crook’s most sought after paintings are from his Islander series and since his passing his prices have been steadily climbing. His current auction record now into 6 figures. The attached painting is a small (23 x 15cm) oil on canvas painted in c1985 and is in excellent condition.
