Blak Douglas is a Sydney-based Indigenous/Irish artist with a political, satirical and contemporary edge. His eye-catching pieces have won him fans and accolades, including recently as a finalist of the Archibald (Portrait Prize) 2019 with a portrait of Aunty Esme – his 3rd time in the Archibald since 2015. This year Blak was also a finalist of the Wynne (Landscape Prize) for the first time. Blak’s work is held in numerous public collections including the NGA and in many private collections around the world. As a leading, mid-career, Indigenous artist, Blak Douglas is one of the most exciting and collectable Indigenous Australian artists working today. JEFA Gallery is proudly working with Blak towards a solo exhibition in the coming months, and will keep you posted! In the meantime, you can buy his work direct from the JEFA website, or contact us about commissions for public or private spaces.
